Sky Valley Singletrack Association is a Washington State based 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on advocating for, maintaining and developing sustainable mountain biking and multi-use trails within the Snohomish County lines of the Skykomish River Valley.
The vision of Sky Valley Singletrack Association is a holistic network of trails in the Sky Valley where each trail system is primarily focused on a single style of riding, but access to all riding styles is not far from home! By tailoring trail systems to focus predominantly on one style of riding that brings out the best characteristics of the landscape, we strive to support the many disciples of mountain biking while offering high quality riding experiences in a way that minimizes our footprint on public lands.
Reiter Foothills State Forest is composed of over 10,000 acres of trust lands managed as a working forest with an adopted recreation plan that supports zoned recreation for motorized and non-motorized usage.
The non-motorized area which supports hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding has the potential to offer multi-use connections to Wallace Falls State Park along with technical descent trails that can incorporate many of the rock outcroppings throughout Reiter Foothills to create trails unlike any other in the Pudget Sound region. We are focused on working with land managers and others at Reiter Foothills to support these critical connections and unique recreational opportunities.
Snohomish County recognized the need for a dedicated space for mountain biking as part of the Lord Hill Preferred Plan which was finalized in 2022. At the conclusion of that process, Snohomish County commissioned a Mountain Bike Feasibility Study to identify sites within the county which could meet the needs for a dedicated mountain bike park. With input from the mountain bike community, Three Lakes Hill was chosen as a preffered site.
Three Lakes Hill strikes a strong balance between accessibility and premium terrain for mountain biking! Boasting over 750 feet of elevation within 2,000 acres and located just north of Monroe, this site with its lowland elevation has the potential to provide many riders in Snohomish County with premium weekday and weekend riding opportunities year round! We are focused on efforts to make this site a reality for Snohomish County riders.
Check out our concept proposal for initial phasing which includes a free ride skills park along with flowy and techy descents!
Lord Hill Regional Park is a multi-use park which provides recreational opportunities for hiking, biking and horseback riding within Snohomish County's largest park. Wedged between the cities of Monroe and Snohomish, Lord Hill Regional Park is one of the larger greenspaces in the north Puget Sound region and hosts regional trail running events, weekly mountain bike team practices and equestrian community rides. While we are focused on supporting the mountain biking experience, it's a big park with something for everyone, and we're committed to working with land managers and others to ensure all recreation is successful at Lord Hill!
In conjunction with Snohomish County's intent to develop a dedicated mountain bike park at Three Lakes Hill as part of their Mountain Bike Feasibility Study, and the recently adopted Lord Hill Preferred Plan which sets policy and guides development at Lord Hill, we're focused on supporting the best possible cross country experience for beginner and intermediate riders at Lord Hill.
